After the successful exhibition by Museum Sculptures by the Sea, a new exhibition with 3dimensional work can be seen in the OBA.
This time, an exhibition of ten contemporary sculptors, who were inspired by the universe.
The exhibition entitled con-TIN-yoo-um contains sculptures linked with texts and poems. Thoughts about time, and matter- continuum – can be seen in the works.
In this exhibition the artists have all shaped the unimaginable in their own way and tried to touch the unreachable.
The participating artists are:
Wim Bakker, Ike van Cleeff, Willem Harbers, Jan Paul Hulsenbek, Ellen Klijzing, Ernest Laeven, Deirdre McLoughlin, Claus Pierre leinenbach, Martina Otto en Karin ter Waarbeek
Literary contributions by Eduardo Galeano , Lars Gustafson and poet Bas Dekker.
Curator and exhibition concept : Ike van Cleeff.
Curator and equipment: Letteke Klooster.
The exhibition can be visited from February 1 to 31 March 2015 in the exhibition hall of the Central Library and the entrance is free.
Sunday, February 1st, at 17 hours : the opening of the exhibition Images & Poems .
The opening is in the exhibition hall of the Central Library , Oosterdokskade 143 in Amsterdam.
The opening program :
– Welcome by Martin Berendse, director Amsterdam Public Library (OBA).
– Opening speech by Koos van Duinen, former director of the museum Kruithuis.
– Music by flutist Abbie de Quant.
– Then there is a drink and an opportunity to view the exhibition.
